The Bellcate Ski and Snowboard program is a collaboration between Bellcate and Smugglers Notch Resort. It provides a unique opportunity for students to experience skiing and snowboarding on a weekly basis.
Students learn about the proper gear used by winter sports enthusiasts to stay warm and safe on the mountain as well as gaining knowledge about general safety practices and skier / rider etiquette. They are able to learn the fundamentals of skiing and snowboarding as well as gain skills required to progress to more advanced terrain.
Winter sports provide healthy endorphin producing experiences, promote physical activity, and allow for greater appreciation of the natural world. They also are known to lower stress and anxiety levels improving mood and all-around happiness.
For many of our students this is their first experience at a ski resort sharing positive peer interactions that may lead to a lifetime of healthy outdoor activities. There is something special and memorable about ripping down the mountain and recounting the exciting experiences all the way back to school with friends.
