Photography is an integral part of Bellcate’s Visual Arts program. Students participate in photography classes in which they learn about photographic composition, communicating through art, solving artistic problems, understanding visual concepts, and develop the ability to analyze and interpret art. Students have the opportunity to photograph the beauty of our surrounding area during classes.
Student photographic works are displayed at school, at student art shows in the community, and during our Fall Festival. One of the most popular ways student’s photographic work is displayed is in the form of greeting cards. These cards are sold at the Harvest Festival along with framed photographs.
There have been many very artistic and unique photographs produced during photography classes. Just recently one student and his teacher had a close encounter with a family of deer and the student was able to snap a few wonderful photos of the deer. It was one of those magical moments that seldom happens during a class of any kind.
