Dominick and Keith, both competing in their second division 4 track meet, both left Green Mountain high school Friday, June 1st, with smiles on their faces, and for good reason. The boys completed a successful track season by each making it to the finals in at least one of their events on Friday.

Keith, who just started to long jump this year, made it to the final 7 long jumpers, where he jumped 18 feet on his second to last jump. Keith finished in 5th place for the meet, and ended the season as the 4th ranked long jumper in the state for division 4. Keith also competed in the 200m race, where he ran a time of 25.71, and threw shot put where he finished in 10th place.

Dominick, coming off of several meets where he ran personal bests, entered into the 100m and 200m races. After running the 100m with the time of 12.35, Dominick’s time was the 7th fastest in the prelims, placing him in the finals! Running against the 6 other fastest kids in the state, Dominick ran a personal best 12.21, making him the 4th fastest 100m runner for division 4 in the state! After tearing up the track in the 100m, Dom then waited for his turn at the 200m. Dominick set another personal best, ripping up half the track in a time of 24.97!

“The boys really came out and represented Bellcate with pride today,” commented coach Jeff Springer. “Back in my younger days I could really move around a track, but compared to these kids I would of looked like a snail!” adds Springer.

Great job Keith and Dominick! We can’t wait to see what you guys do at states next year. Go Bulldogs!
