For years now, Marina and I have celebrated the Giving Season. It’s a time to focus on others that are important to us. This can be individuals, groups, or our larger community. With holidays approaching, it’s easy to think about, “What will I get? What do I want?”, but that need to get get get isn’t a healthy focus for anyone. The season runs from November 1st through January 1st. To celebrate this year, Marina spent her own money and purchased carnations for all the staff and students. She walked around and said, “Welcome to the Giving Season, and thanks for being part of my Bellcate Family”. She was so thrilled to see all of the smiles, hear the thank you’s, and she especially loved the hugs. Marina and I would like to ask, “What will you do this Giving Season”?

We brainstormed a list of suggestions of things you could do for others:

  • write notes
  • make a drawing
  • do an unasked chore
  • hold doors for people
  • help carry in the groceries
  • say please and thank you more than usual
  • give away baked goods
  • go through your clothes/belongings and donate
  • collect and donate food
  • make a care package
  • call someone you haven’t spoken to in a long time
  • and best of all, tell the people you love, that you love them!

We hope you’re feeling inspired to join us in celebrating the Giving Season!

Love, Jac and Marina
