There was hustling and bustling through the halls of Bellcate School on October 25th. We had a great turn out for this year’s Open House. Staff and students worked hard to display all of their creative works for first quarter. The evening started at Bellcate’s music and art programs where parents and friends were given a tour of both studios. Susanne Michaelson, curriculum coordinator, cut the ribbon on our new social studies department and space called Pangea. Student, Keith Ward, hosted a self regulation station to showcase the skills learned in Bellcate’s Brain Science classes. Student, Hannah Wilde displayed a dynamic beekeeping exhibit. Natural Creations classes demonstrated the distilling process involved in oil chemistry. They also handed out samples of homemade products including balms, soaps, and air fresheners. At the end of the evening, Bellcate recognized our 2017 Spirit of The Community Award winners. Every year Bellcate Staff nominates community partners who support our students and families in the areas of Developmental Services, Mental Health Services, Legal and Medical Services, Vocational Services and Community Building. We awarded nearly 40 community partners this year. For a full list of this years winners check out our Community Award Winners page under News and Events. A special thank you to Jac Treanor, Bellcate Events Director, for hosting another successful Open House.
