On Wednesday, September 27, 2017, Bellcate School hosted its 4th Annual Harvest Festival to celebrate the coming of fall. For several months, students and staff worked together to plan this community wide event. This year students show cased educational booths to highlight their learning in many content areas. The trades program built a farm stand where the garden program sold its bounty from our garden plot and new raised beds.
Our wellness program sold homemade balms, lotions and soaps. La Finca represented our farm programming with a petting zoo enjoyed by our preschool neighbors who especially loved the goats. SOA Music program entertained the festival with an hour long set of covers and original music. Brett Hughes and Cat Wright also showed up to perform a few folky duets.
The Pizza Man was in the house once again serving up wood fired deliciousness. Our staff band Zephrus rounded out our music sets with some Classic Rock and Roll. Bellcate’s ABLE Arts program facilitated the creation of a community mural that will become a permanent installation on our side hill. A number of community vendors and public service participants joined in to make our Harvest Fest a truly diverse event.
It was a beautiful fall day with some unseemly warm weather and Great Fun was had by all. A special thanks to Jac Treanor, Bellcate School’s Events Director for hosting another spectacular Event!
